Purpose of Job
Improve the overall health of the of the communities we serve by providing health and behavioral health services at CHAS clinics in accordance with policies, procedures and regulations of the CHAS Board of Directors and administration as follows:
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·         Provides direct and indirect advanced nursing services to outpatients who require or will benefit from advanced practice nursing skills and interventions.
·         Prescribes and monitors psychotropic drugs.
·         Evaluates and assesses client’s overall physical and mental health state and collaborates with PCP.
·         Teaches and counsels clients, families and care givers.
·         Provides individual and family therapy when appropriate.
·         Provides crisis assessments and interventions as needed. Available for consultations to primary care providers.
·         Works with multi-disciplinary teams to staff and recommend treatment planning, implementation, evaluation and follow-up.
·         Treats a mixed patient population, across gender, age and ethnicity, as well as insured and un-insured patients.
·         Participates in provider staff meetings to develop problem-solving techniques, and acquire team-building skills. Participates in peer reviews.
·         Performs other duties as assigned or as needed.
 
Qualifications
Experience:     Valid licensure in Washington state required, CNS-ARNP or Psychiatric ARNP. Secure
                          prescription privileges. Board Certified.
Education:       Graduation from a Masters level, accredited Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner school
                .       CPR certification.
Other Skills:    Effective oral and written communication skills required. Basic computer user skills. Must
                         be able to secure credentialing through identified agencies (Medicare, Medicaid, etc.).
 
Physical Demands
Providers must be able to move around the facility between 1/3rd and 2/3rds of the day, as well as sit at a workstation or in patient rooms. Using hands occurs over 2/3rds of the day, while reaching with arms occurs less than 1/3rd of the day. Communicating is also required over 2/3rds of the day, while climbing, stooping or crawling is minimal. Lifting up to 10 lbs occurs about half the time, while up to and above 25 lbs occurs only occasionally.
