Purpose of Job:
Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by coordinating patient care at assigned clinic by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Takes all incoming Medical Assistant phone calls, facilitates patients needs, and documents all communication into the chart. RNs Only: Triages incoming phone calls when needed.
· Receives workflows from pharmacy or other providers and contacts patients with messages, to include scheduling of appointments, lab orders, or other needs, and complete documentation.
· Assists MAs with referrals, lab callbacks or other clerical/phone tasks.
· Backs up the float MA when necessary.
· Fills in for floor and float MAs when requested for coverage.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Medical Assistant, LPN or RN in an ambulatory care setting. Previous experience in a community health care setting helpful, but not required. RNs: Previous experience in triaging helpful, but not required.
Education:
Valid RN or LPN license in the state of Washington, OR completion of medical assisting program with valid Health Care Assistant certificate including categories A, C & E in the state of Washington required within 90 days of hire.
Other Skills: Excellent customer service skills and compassion for patients required. Basic computer user skills required, with the ability to document electronically clearly and efficiently, using medical terminology and accurate spelling. Excellent oral communications skills required. Must be able to work well with the team and independently. CPR / AED certified for a Health Care Provider.
Physical Demands
Required to sit for greater than 50% of the day, and stand and be mobile at least 25% of the time. Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel over two-thirds of the time, as well as reach with hands and arms. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling or crouching occurs less than one-third of the time. Communicating by talking / hearing occurs over two-thirds of the day, with a large amount of this occurring over the telephone. Amount of time spent lifting or exerting force is less than one third of the time for up to 25 pounds. Rarely is there a need to lift more than 25 pounds.
